Man United Vs Man City - (23-10-2011) : Preview

This has to be the most eagerly anticipated derby in years, any decades. Well certainly in my lifetime anyway. With no disrespect to Chelsea and the rest of the chasing pack, this is likely to be a match between this season’s top two.  And it could very well be the first step in the final phase of the changing of the guard in Manchester and the Premier League.
Both sides have started the season unbeaten and already at this stage look a cut above the rest in the Premier League. Both look great going forward and have a solid dynamic core to their sides which most teams across Europe would give up billions to possess.
Should City win at Old Trafford for only the second time in 35 years, then it will be a huge step towards them claiming the league title for the first time since 1968.
City have only won one of their 12 trips to Old Trafford since the inception of the Premier League.
Both clubs have spent huge amounts of money on players.  Now the game has reached the point where skills of both sides are pretty well matched and the margins or errors have become incredibly small. Now that match, the title, will be won in the mind.

Despite missing United’s midweek win over Galati, it would be a surprise if SAF leaves out Darren Fletcher.
United’s Captain Nemanja Vidic has only just made his return to the side after being injured and was sent off in Romania in the club’s 2-0 victory over Galati.
Rooney has been in exceptional form scoring two goals against the Romanian club Galati and is expected to deliver his best. Not to forget, the Portuguese maestro Nani will have to put in his magic.
Sunday at Old Trafford one could see the collision of two clubs at two different ends of the mental journey to becoming Champions.  I believe that this is going to be a tough match. It could go either way and a moment of magic or a mistake will probably decide the game.  United having the home advantage, I think that will be a major factor and can see United winning the game 2-1 according to my prediction. It will be a terrific atmosphere inside Old Trafford-The Theatre of Dreams. One could only see RED RED RED all around the stadium.
We are the Red Devils!
We are the Champions!
Glory Glory Man United!
